Founder and co-owner, Rich Wilk, began his construction career while serving the United States Navy as a “Sea-Bee.” Among the first soldiers to arrive in Diego Garcia during Vietnam, Rich assisted in constructing a naval facility. His love of construction continued to grow while he built an air strip and transmitting station for the naval use. After his service, Rich was enlisted to teach the trade to new recruits. This valuable experience inspired Rich to make a pivotal career move; Wilk Construction was born.
A successful construction business allowed Rich’s son, Tim, to grow up surrounded by skilled contractors and passionate employees. As a child, Tim was eager to learn the trade and would often tag along to observe. As an adult, Tim worked alongside his father and eventually earned the title of co-owner. Father and son have teamed up to create an extraordinary business that both men are proud to put their name on.
Wilk Construction began as a small general construction company in 1970, and has since blossomed into a well-respected and established brand. Tremendous growth can be attributed to customer satisfaction, professionalism, and glowing recommendations.
In Wilk Construction’s infancy, Tim and his team gained experience and knowledge in the world of residential construction. However, as the Wilk name gained momentum, the company expanded into commercial work. The benefits of managing projects at both residential and commercial sites is reflected in the knowledge and skill set of the Wilk team.
Wilk Construction’s recent projects include renovating commercial buildings and campus-wide maintenance at a prominent New Jersey college, as well as Covid-19 protections. The services provided during these assignments include metal framing, dry wall, acoustical ceilings, painting, and selective demolition. Wilk Construction also provides maintenance services and repairs to the private and public sector.
